Empowering members during the lockdown

The COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing lockdown have had a significant financial impact on our members, with many losing income and employment as a result. To empower members to stay in control of their super during this extraordinary time, we held a number of interactive webcast events.

These events were designed to answer members’ questions on the impact of the shutdown on global financial markets, how Sunsuper responded, and the potential impacts on members’ superannuation and retirement.

The webcasts attracted more than 14,000 total views, either through the live interactive events or watching the recordings. Members reported finding the sessions easy to understand thanks to the strong presentations – from our CEO and CIO through to our member education team, as well as the clear and simple messaging.

Going forward, we will continue to develop our digital capability and capacity, while also planning for a return to face-to-face delivery in major workplaces and townhalls.
