About the guest speaker
As an acclaimed journalist, well-known media professional, engaging raconteur and best-selling author, George Negus has always been at the cutting edge of world events. His passion for international affairs and talent for insightful and searching interviews is legendary.
From 1975 through to 2012, Negus has written, directed and presented a series of leading current affairs programs on Australian television — from 60 Minutes to Dateline to the Today Show to The Project to ABC’s Foreign Correspondent. He is, in fact, one of the few Australian media professionals whose career has successfully spanned both public and commercial broadcasting sectors.
Negus’s wide-ranging knowledge of international affairs and extensive global experience as both a journalist and traveller have made him a much sought-after commentator on TV and radio, as well as a respected consultant to both government and industry.

Scott Hartley – Chief Executive Officer, Sunsuper
Scott started as Sunsuper’s Chief Executive Officer in January 2014. He has had an extensive career in the superannuation industry with more than 15 years’ experience in executive management roles, most recently holding the position of Executive General Manager, Corporate and Institutional Wealth at NAB. Scott has held directorships with Plum Financial Services and Jana Investment Advisers. Prior to that, he held several other executive leadership roles within the NAB /MLC Group, comprising strategy and marketing, institutional investments and financial planning.
Brian Parker – Chief Economist, Sunsuper
Brian Parker was appointed to the role of Sunsuper’s chief economist in May 2015. Parker’s extensive experience makes him eminently suitable for the role having most recently held the position of head of portfolio specialists for NAB Asset Management. Brian has an honours degree in economics from the University of Queensland, where he also taught macroeconomics. Additionally, he is a chartered financial analyst.
