How do I view my client’s transaction history in Adviser Online?
Adviser Online offers the ability to view a client’s transaction history in Adviser Online.
1. Log into Adviser Online
2. Click on Reports
3. Select the client and their details will be presented.
4. Select financial year or date range.
4a. A transaction summary for the selected financial year or date range will be presented.
4b. Below the summary, a list of transactions is presented.
You can choose to further filter transactions by transaction type. You can also choose to download transactions into a Microsoft excel spreadsheet.
Why can I see transfers in and transfers out of the same amount?
Any member may have multiple employer occurrences (each time they change employer, a new ‘occurrence’ is created in our system.) Sunsuper’s business rules define the default or ‘best occurrence’ as the first employer the member was set up with. The ‘best occurrence’ has no material effect on the contribution. It’s simply a consolidation of all contributions into one occurrence – the ‘best occurrence’.
The transparency that Adviser Online now brings means you can see activity on your member’s account, including employer contributions. These show the contribution less the tax, plus or minus investment earnings transferred from one employer occurrence to the ‘best’ occurrence for the member. It’s an automated consolidation activity, affecting only those members with more than one contribution source.Back to the top
What are the 'Other management costs' I can see on my client's transaction history?
Other Management Costs - Type 3: This is the Indirect Cost Ratio
Indirect cost ratio - These are costs incurred by the underlying investment manager as part of managing investments.
Indirect costs are expenses incurred in managing your investments in addition to investment fees and include explicit transactional and operational cos.
For example, if your funds are invested in real property, a transactional cost could be stamp duty for the purchase of that property.
These costs are not paid by Sunsuper, but rather are incurred indirectly by our investment managers and as such are included in your net investment returns.
The indirect cost ratios are the sum of indirect costs expressed as a percentage of the funds in each investment option.
Other Management costs - Type 4: These are the transactional and operational costs.
Transactional and operational costs are incurred by underlying investment managers and are divided into two categories, Explicit costs and Implicit costs.
Explicit costs: These include brokerage, settlement costs (including custody costs) and stamp duty. Explicit costs are already included in the Indirect Cost Ratio, but are also separately disclosed.
Implicit costs: These are costs of acquisition and disposal of assets as part of investments. They are effectively the difference between the price for the purchase and sale of an investment asset. They are not included in the investment fee or Indirect Cost Ratio.
How do I view my client’s Investments in Adviser Online?
Adviser Online offers the ability to view a client’s investments, including five years’ of investment switch history. By accessing an investment report on Adviser Online, you will be able to source client information about investment unit prices, units held, and asset allocation. You can also access historic investment switches for more accurate record keeping.

2. Click on Reports and search for the relevant member
Select Investments under the Reports tab to view investment options for different member accounts. You can select a member’s Income account or Accumulation account to view the Asset Mix as well as review Investment Switch History. For Income Accounts, you can also view the Drawdown Strategy.
